The NBA regular season is just a couple of months away. After this year's frantic off season filled with blockbuster trades and shocking free agent signings, all fans are looking forward to the return of NBA basketball. But who will be the starters for each team? In this post, I will be predicting the starting lineups for all NBA teams next year (some players like Cousins and Porzingis will not be healthy at the start of the regular season so they will not be put in the starting lineup).
Disclaimer: All players who had a major injury last year and are in the starting lineups are expected to return for training camp (i.e. Patrick Beverly, Andre Roberson, etc.)
PG: Kyrie Irving
SG: Jaylen Brown
PG: D'Angelo Russell
SG: Allen Crabbe
PG: Kemba Walker

This offseason seems bad for the Pelicans at first glance. Yes losing Boogie Cousins and Rondo is a big loss. However, the Pelicans did start playing better when Cousins went down last season. Add in the signing of Julius Randle (who would be best coming off the bench) and the development of Anthony Davis (could be the best player in the league very soon), the Pelicans could potentially make some noise in the West this upcoming season.

Well this Knicks team is fully in rebuild mode. With Porzingis unlikely to play a game this season, the Knicks best bet is to tank for the future. It's going to be another brutal season for Knicks fans. Hey, at least you have another christmas game!
PG: Russell Westbrook
SG: Andre Roberson
The Thunder had one of the best offseasons out of all the NBA teams. Resigning most of their free agents (Paul George, Jerami Grant, etc.), and dealing Carmelo Anthony for Dennis Schroder, the Thunder have become a better team. Add in another year of building chemistry, the Thunder are the clear 3rd seed in the West.
PG: D.J. Augustin
SG: Evan Fournier
The Magic once again are looking like a bottom feeding Eastern Conference team next season. They have no clear star player. They have some young talent in Gordon, Issac and Bamba, but none of those players will be enough to drag the Magic to the playoffs. They also have a logjam of centers with Vucevic, Mozgov, Bamba and Birch. Every center except Bamba is definately on the trade block. Vucevic is probable starting at center to start the season, although I expect the Magic to eventually start Bamba there.
PG: Ben Simmons
SG: J.J Redick
Right now, I have the 76ers as the 3rd best team in the Eastern Conference. However, their potential starting lineup with Simmons at the 1 will cause matchup problems for the majority of teams in the NBA. If Markelle Fultz is half the player everybody thought he was when he was the 1st pick in last year's draft, the Sixers will have some much needed depth and could give the Raptors and Celtics a run for their money in the playoffs.
PG: Brandon Knight
SG: Devin Booker
The Suns had the 1st pick in this year's NBA draft and took Deandre Ayton. Ayton projects to be a fantastic big man in the NBA, although his defense is a little shaky. Trevor Ariza and T.J. Warren could battle for the last starting lineup position, but other than that, their starting lineup looks set.
PG: Damian Lillard
SG: C.J. McCollum
The Trailblazers had one hell of a regular season which saw them surprisingly finish as the 3rd seed in a tough Western conference. The playoffs was a different story as they were swept by the Pelicans. In the offseason, the Blazers didn't really make any major moves and didn't improve while other teams moved ahead of them (i.e. Lakers, Spurs). The Trailblazers could be in danger of missing the playoffs, especially with how much more competitive the West has become. However, to be honest, I wouldn't count out Dame Dolla just yet.

SG: Buddy Hield
After drafting Marvin Bagley III with the 2nd pick in this year's NBA draft, the Kings have a solid young core. Unlike past years, Kings fans actually have something to be excited about this season. While the Kings won't be really good, at least the team is finally moving in the right direction and starting to develop players.
PG: Dejounte Murray
SG: Demar Derozan
The Spurs finally dealt Kawhi Leonard (and Danny Green) this offseason. In return they recieved all-star Demar Derozan, Jakob Poetl and a protected 1st round pick. While they did lose one of the best players in the NBA, one could argue that the Spurs will do better this year. Last year they squeaked into the playoffs without Leonard for much of the season. This year, they will have an all-star in Derozan playing the whole season. Along with Aldridge and Coach Pop, the Spurs are a real threat to win 50+ games and have home court advantage in the first round.

The other team in the blockbuster Kawhi Leonard-Demar Derozan trade, the Raptors got significantly better this offseason. With a plethora of 3 pt shooters and excellent defenders, the Raptors are legit contenders to win the East and make it to the finals this year. They still have one of the best benches in the league and now have acquired a superstar in Leonard. Watch out, the Raptors could repeat as the 1st seed in the East again this year.
Utah Jazz
PG: Ricky Rubio
SG: Donovan Mitchell
After a surprise playoff appearance last year, the Jazz are looking to build on last year's success. They have one of the best defences in the league, a future superstar in Donovan Mitchell and one of the best coaches in the league in Quin Snyder. Add in good veteran players like Rubio, Crowder, Ingles and Favors, the Jazz could surprise a lot of people next year.
PG: John Wall
SG: Bradley Beal
It was an up and down regular season last year for the Wizards. There was locker room issues, John Wall missed a significant portion of the season and the team finished with the 8th seed in the East. However, I really think the Wizards are an underrated team this year. With a fully healthy and motivated John Wall and Bradley Beal, the Wizards have one of the best backcourts in the league. Add in Dwight Howard, an athletic big, the Wizards could finish as a top 4 team in the East.

Atlanta Hawks

Not much to argue about here. The Hawks don't have a good team and are looking to tank this year. Newly acquired guard Jeremy Lin could start at PG, but it doesn't really make sense as the Hawks want to develop Young into a star and benching Young would be the complete opposite of developing.

Boston Celtics

The favourites in the East, the Boston Celtics could very well make it to the NBA Finals this season. However, their starting lineup is filled with a lot of doubt. Will Kyrie be healthy by opening night? Will Haywood be able to carry a starting position work load in his first year back from a gruesome injury?

Another year of the rebuild for the Brooklyn Nets. At least this year they will have their own draft pick. Caris Levert or even Spencer Dinwiddie could start at SG but aside from that, the Nets starting lineup is pretty much set for next season.

I really believe that the Hornets will finally give up on Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and start rookie Miles Bridges this season. Aside from that, the Hornets had a puzzling offseason where they didn't commit to a rebuild but also didn't build a playoff worthy team. The Hornets won't be a very exciting team next season (sorry Hornets fans).
Chicago Bulls

The Bulls are a very young team that could potentially sneak into the playoffs as the 8th seed in a weak Eastern Conference. They have young talent, sneakily good depth and made a great draft selection in Wendell Carter Jr. (who could be the steal of the draft). Robin Lopez, a solid veteran role player could start at center, but I highly doubt the Bulls would impede the development of Carter Jr. for a player who isn't apart of their future.

Add in vets like DeAndre, Harrison Barnes, Wes Mathews and the legend Dirk, the Mavs could very narrowly miss the playoffs in the wild, wild west. It's going to be an exciting season for Mavs fans.

Book it!

The Clippers are a surprisingly deep team. Although they don't have a bonafide star on their team, they have plenty of good veteran role players, who could be trade deadline deal candidates, along with young talent (Shai Gilgeous-Alexander). The Clippers are most likely not making the playoffs this year, but they could be a very interesting team to watch.

Well the Lakers have been vaulted back into playoff contention after signing Lebron this offseason. They are going to be one entertaining team to watch with the Ball family circus, the meme team (Lance, Javale, Beasley), Lebron and all the media attention.

The Grizzlies are fully healthy entering this season and are gunning for a playoff spot. Let's not forget, 2 years ago they pushed the San Antonio Spurs to 6 games. Their core of Conley and Gasol are still on the team so we know that Memphis has the talent to compete in the West. If the Grizzlies can stay healthy (and that's a big if), they could find themselves playing playoff basketball once again.

The Heat were the 6th seed last season and were bounced out of the playoffs by a young Sixers team. This offseason, they did not make many moves to improve their team, so we can expect much of the same this season. The Heat will probably finish anywhere from 6-8 in the East this year.

Like the Heat, the Bucks were one of the bottom playoff teams in the East last year. Like the Heat, the Bucks really didn't make major roster moves to improve their team. However, the Bucks did hire Mike Budenholzer, a very well respected coach in the NBA. This could finally be the year that the Bucks unleash their potential. If Coach Bud can unlock Giannis's and the Bucks' potential, they could be dark horse conference contender in the East.

The Timberwolves under performed last season (especially after Jimmy Butler went down). What was supposed to be a future dynasty turned into an 8th seed finish. While they are probably never going to be a dynasty, the star power of KAT and Jimmy Butler and the potential of Andrew Wiggins will most likely be enough to get Minnesota back into the playoffs.
The Clippers are a surprisingly deep team. With a plethora of 3 pt shooters and excellent defenders, the Raptors are legit contenders to win the East and make it to the finals this year. They still have one of the best benches in the league and now have acquired a superstar in Leonard. Watch out, the Raptors could repeat as the 1st seed in the East again this year.

C: Rudy GobertAfter a surprise playoff appearance last year, the Jazz are looking to build on last year's success. They have one of the best defences in the league, a future superstar in Donovan Mitchell and one of the best coaches in the league in Quin Snyder. Add in good veteran players like Rubio, Crowder, Ingles and Favors, the Jazz could surprise a lot of people next year.

C: Dwight HowardIt was an up and down regular season last year for the Wizards. There was locker room issues, John Wall missed a significant portion of the season and the team finished with the 8th seed in the East. However, I really think the Wizards are an underrated team this year. With a fully healthy and motivated John Wall and Bradley Beal, the Wizards have one of the best backcourts in the league. Add in Dwight Howard, an athletic big, the Wizards could finish as a top 4 team in the East.
