Isaiah Thomas fights through tragedy

Isaiah Thomas, leader of the Boston Celtics lost his sister in a car accident. The accident occurred 24 hours before tip off of game 1 of the Celtics and Bulls. But this is bigger than basketball. That's life, that's his sister. It would have been absolutely ok if he took a game off to be with his family. He wanted to play. The TNT broadcast said that in times like this basketball can be a sanctuary, and just relieve all his thoughts. He was still emotional all night long and it is understandable. I mean he lost his sister, a sibling. He was sobbing pre-game and Bradley attempted to comfort him but what can he really say.

Not just Bradley but the entire Garden was behind him. From the start with the moment of silence to showering him in MVP chants, to his final basket of the game. The crowd was with him all night long. However, you could see the emotion on his face.

He dedicated the game to his sister with a message on his shoes.

Despite everything, he dropped 30 points for the Celtics and Jimmy Butler, one of the best defenders in the league.  Maybe if he had more help the Celtics would have been able to pull out a W in game 1. Still, expect them to bounce back and win the series in 7.

Major props to Isaiah Thomas, playing through this difficult time and playing well. Prayers go out to him and his family.
