The Raptors playoff curse is still real. For the 3rd season in a row the Raptors have lost another game 1 at home. This group under Dwane Casey is 0-6 in the first game of a seven game series and 5 of those games were at home. It just does not make sense anymore. The playoff monkey is off their back as they made the Eastern Conference finals last year having the best Raptor season in history. But they still could not win a game 1.
The young, long Bucks showed the Raptors that this was not going to be a cake walk to the 2nd round. The Bucks are young and get after it. They went at the Raptors. Their length proved to be very difficult for the Raps to handle. Lead by the Greek freak who seemed like he got into the paint whenever he wanted. He just dominated the Raptors and is probably the best player in the series.
The Raptors went to isolation basketball and Kyle Lowry was struggling mightily finishing with only 4 points. The Raptors need to move the ball and create better shots. The Bucks aren't a great defensive team when facing teams who move the ball but when teams go to iso ball, the Bucks can use their length and just force difficult shots. Despite all that being said, the Raptors were up at the half and they were the best 4th quarter team in the NBA. They just seemed tired and just had a lack of effort in the 2nd half. They were late to get focused as they did not play a great 1st quarter. If they play like they did on the 2nd quarter they should be much better off.
The Bucks played great in Game 1. Jason Kidd can't expect a whole lot more from this young team. I still believe the Raptors will take care of business in game 2 and finish the series in 6. They have been in this position before. The Raps need Klow to find his flow if they want to win the series and give the Cavs a run for their money. I think if Klow has a decent game and the Raps improve their effort they will take game 2 on Tuesday night. Get ready for DeMar to drop 30. I think DeMar will have a huge game especially if Kyle struggles. I expect the Raps to take game 2.
